Teaching With Television

I think I'll give up teaching science and just have the girls watch every episode of Mythbusters. :)

Myth busters is a cool show. The hubby love to watch it. Maybe he'll start watching it again now that we have cable.

Mythbusters is cool, but they get to define and constrain all their problems to fit in the allotted time.

My high school physics teacher, when Missouri lost to Colorado in the Fifth Down scandal, had us calculate the weight of the football official in the noose from the amount of stretch in the rope. That's practical application!

I agree, Barb. Between the history channel, animal planet, Discovery, and How It's Made, why even bother with school? :-)

Mythbusters was last year. This year our curriculum is Survivorman...oh and Good Eats. It's about time someone else started cooking around here besides me :)

Mythbusters is great! Darling Daughter and I both love to watch it, especially when they explode stuff. Dirty Jobs is good too!
