I Can Haz Free Healthcare?

I guess we've been doing it wrong all this time. My husband should quit his job, become a woodworker, and then we too can live in a 3,000 square foot house, drive SUVs, send our kids to tony private schools, and get free healthcare for our kids off of you sucker tax payers. I guess we can drop our auto insurance too. Yeah!

Michelle Malkin has a pretty thorough run-down. Don Surber chimes in also.

I really have little patience for people who whine because they can't "afford" top-of-the-line whatever.

To add me and Sparkle Kitty to my husband's employer-provided plan would cost us one-third of his take-home pay. So, no, we can't "afford" health insurance either.

We have a privately-purchased major-medical plan for me and my daughter. Is it as nice as the plan my husband has? Nope.

Will it cover us if I need surgery or Sparkle Kitty breaks a leg? Yes.

I can't afford a car with less than 100k miles on it! I'm under-transportated! I demand a subsidy so that I can have a reliable car! Cough it up, America! I need non-embarrassing transportation!

It really scares me when I am talking to normal middle class people who believe they are entitled. One of our neighbors--2700 sq ft house, two SUV's, snowmobiles, trips to Disney, kids play travel soccer--was complaining that since her husband left his job to be a consultant they have to pay for their own healthcare, and they *just can't afford it.* She can't wait for Hillary to be president so that we can "all get the healthcare we deserve for free."

For free??? FOR FREE????

Don't these people get that we all pay?

Jane, those people really scare me, too.
