Seven Things About Me

Elephant's Child tagged me, so are seven random, uninteresting things about me.

1. I started going gray in my late teens/early twenties.

2. I am a picky eater.

3. Our family is acquiring a lovely set of glassware via my husband's drinking of POM tea.

4. I've never seen ET.

5. My mother wanted to name me Judy, except she didn't like my father's sister Judy. I think I'm grateful for that.

6. Except that I like Judy Garland.

7. I just got my ears pierced in April for the first time in my life.

If they feel like it, I'm tagging Susan, 'cause she writes interesting posts, my alter ego Barb, if she wants something else to blog about, and kate5kiwis, who I'd like to see come up with seven uninteresting things about herself!

But those were supposed to be uninteresting! I'm impressed with you getting your ears pierced now. It must be scary as a grown-up! Oh, and guess what, my first name is officially Judith even though no one has ever called me that. It was for MY father's sister, too. Hmmm.... What shall we make of this?

Judy!

I never saw ET, either. I thought I was alone in the universe.

And I have never had my ears pierced in April, either.

Well, my mom didn't want to name me Judith, just Judy. My dad has five sisters, but none of the six of them have gotten along in years. It *was* kinda scary getting my ears pierced now, but my sister-in-law did it, which helped make it not-so-scary. 'Cause I *do* get along with my sister-in-law. :)

Scottius, I wanted to be the only one of my generation never to have seen ET!! :)

barb, to be honest, tags make me cringe. cos i don't like divulging personal info on my blog... unless the muse descends....
but i will say
1. my friend nush picked out my first grey hair yesterday
2. i *love* food and eat almost everything... in large quantities
3. we keep throwing our wine glasses on the floor and are now in dire need of a matching set of red and white wine glasses
4. i've watched ET about five times. my kiddos love it too. hubby's brother took a photo of his firstborn son in a pile of teddy bears.... and enlarged it for their lounge wall. but that probably won't make sense to you. watch the movie ok.
5. my parents couldn't decide *what* to call me, so i was affectionately known as *peanut* for the first six weeks of my life. that reveals a h*ll of a lot about why i am who i am ROFL
6. judy rocks. almost as much as johnny depp.
7. i got my ears pierced when i was 22. i originally got them done at 17, but dad told me i had to leave home unless i took them out...

and that, my friend, is that.

Thanks, Barb - silly game, but thanks anyway. I got so sick of everyone telling me how great Forrest Gump was that I refused to see it for years and years. I've still only seen parts of it. :)

Hi Barb,

Thank you for the tag...I will post some uninteresting things about myself in a little while. I'm pretty uninteresting, so it won't be hard to do. ;-)

Incidentally, my sister's name is Judy. My Dad wanted to name her Judith, but my Mom liked Judy. My Mom won out. A similar thing happened with my own name, which I will share in my upcoming post.

Let's see...I don't normally participate in too many memes, but I'll answer here, just for you...

1) I like The Cure and The Violent Femmes, even if it is the kind of music that right-wing fundamentalist Christians are supposed to like.

2)My mom always wanted a girl named Dana, so it is a good thing she had me and not an Emily or something else.

3) I've never seen a lot of movies, but I have seen E.T. Like I've never seen Out of Africa, but I think I'm supposed to have.

4) We don't get any television channels. That would be because my husband thought the antennae was too unsightly.

5) I wrote at least three papers in school on which I scored an "A" without having actually read the book.

6) I like Vegemite.

7) My most well-loved material possession is my tea set I brought back with me from Germany.
