I went shopping for Christmas cards today, and it was so hard to find a card somewhere between the generic "Have a happy holiday season" and the overly-schmaltzy "Christmas is a special time of love and miracles and peace on earth and gooey stuff like that." Sometimes I think I should write for a greeting card company. They don't always seem to represent the Christian POV very well.

YES! We'll start our own company and we'll only sell beautiful, liturgically minded Christmas cards... maybe Kelly Klages at the CLEAR blog can help us out.

Hi Barb,
I don't know if you've seen the cards here from the Victorian Trading Co., but I was planning on ordering some. I love the artwork and the messages seem to be neither too generic nor too goopy (at least IMHO).
I have bought several things from them and I get their print catalogs. They have some neat stuff. :-)
Elephantschild, that sounds great! I bet Kelly could help us out.
Susan, I hadn't thought to check out their cards, although I'm familiar with that store. Unfortunately my husband works for a greeting card company so I kind of feel obliged to purchase our cards there. :) Those ones at Victorian Trading Co. are nice though.
you can always make your own cards! I have some nice Christmas stamps, or you could use photographs, paper or stickers. you can print off your verse on the computer to say what *you* want it to say! it really isn't all that hard, and when you are making several of the same it is easier. :o)
If you want to come over one afternoon i could give you some help. :o)
Debbie, I may take you up on that...
Oooh. I'm game!
