Cure for the Friday Blues

As I've gotten more into homeschooling, both increasing the scope of my teaching, and teaching the girls at higher grades, I'm realizing why Friday happy hour is popular. :) Not only am I tired, but my tired mind tends to focus on what I haven't achieved during the week, and what needs to be accomplished over the weekend. Fortunately, there is a couple with whom we go out to eat a couple/few times a month, and tonight was one of those times. I got some adult time, a good meal, a tasty sangria, and Mr. Evil Genius just ran out to the ice cream store and is bringing home a chocolate-with-hot-fudge sundae for me. I think I'll survive another day.

Mr. "Evil Genius"? Is that only because he's married to you, or is he in fact an evil genius? Because I've never heard a woman admit to such a thing being possible in a man. ;)

I've caught her acknowledging me once or twice. Probably after Sangria. :)

But in this case, I think it's Mr. BTEG.

Hmmmm, what am I doing wrong? Dh finished the ice cream and then went to sleep. I am left with no ice cream and no courier either. Heaven forbid that I should get it myself : )

I'll live to see another day and another ice cream sundae....probably!

It can be tiring, but you will find your way, too. And if it is Sangria, at least you have chosen a tasteful drink.

Best when enjoyed on an Italian beach near Bibione while watching the waves of the Mediterranean lap at your toes.

The stars twinkling, some people talking, and a lit candle slowly melting over the empty wine bottle. That makes a cool candle holder, by the way.

Dan, I've always thought of him more as a computer genius than an evil genius. He's pretty bright, though; that's why I married him!

Presbytera, I'm sure there are ice cream sundaes in your future. :)

Dana, I've been paddleboating in the Mediterranean, but I was too young to drink back then. :)

So true, Barb. I just feel like giving up some Fridays. I'm glad you got to go out with your friends and that your hubby got you some ice cream. I hope you have a rejuvenating weekend.

"Mr. Evil Genius": Makes it sound like you're married to Karl Rove!

And, I just remembered, upon your mention of ice cream, that my in-laws left an unopened container of vanilla ice cream in the freezer...

... see ya... gotta go eat...

BTEG: Barb The Evil Genius.

One of my pastors at church actually calls me Beeteg. It's kinda useful since there's more than one Barb at church. :)
