I've Lost My Way

When I first started this blog, I wanted to write about all kinds of things, not just the personal events in my and my family's life. However, I had a life-changing event at the end of February this year, and since then I'm not sure what I'm doing. I'm not a world events blogger, I'm not a crafty blogger (at this time), I'm not good at exploring or talking about my faith and I'm not good at keeping up with events in my (larger) church, so I guess I'm not much of a Lutheran blogger either. I'm just me, and right now I'm not sure where I'm going. All I wanted to do with this blog is express *me*, and I'm not sure how to do that right now.

w-e-e-ell,
i have loved my journey with blogging - i've learned so much about myself and my cycles, and i've made some beautiful friends.

i have noticed that when i'm pushing sh*t uphill my posts get really frivolous... and when i'm angsty i find my inner poet. i love photos too, i find them such a motivation, a cheaty way to encourage myself to write... and i feel so much more confident to express myself using the written word since two years ago when i started blogging.
of course, i still phnerl alot.

trust yourself barb, your mojo will return when the time is right.

Feh.

Don't worry about meeting anybody else's expectations. Except mine! ;)

Whatever you do, don't delete, and the RSS trackers will let us know when you start posting again.

Blogging is something you get to do, not have to do. :)

Hi Barb,

I've been feeling the same way about my own blog. I quit a while back, but then gradually started posting occasionally. (I seem to average about two or three posts a month.) I toyed with the idea of starting another blog with a different attitude for politics and other similar stuff (I even have it set up with a URL and thought of making it a group blog), but I don't think my heart is in it right now. (Although I still may do it in the future.) So I just plod along with my current blog.

Anyway, I think I know exactly how you are feeling. Just post what you want when you feel inspired and don't worry about the rest of the stuff.

What Dan said.

I've got you in my Google reader; I'll be "listening."

If all else fails, you can make a few lolCats, eh? :)

Barb!

You may not like how your blog is at the moment, but we all seem to like it, for what it's worth. I also have it on Google reader, so even though I don't "physically" visit every day, I catch each post.

You listed a lot of things you are not, but I would disagree. You've blogged about all those things- world events, crafts, faith, etc.- in the past. Therefore you ARE a blogger about those things.

It's your blog- do with it as you wish! We'll still read it because we like how you express yourself.

When I've felt like you have about my own remote space on the internet (and I have more than once), I've found it useful to go back through my archives, especially the earliest posts, to remember what I found exciting enough to write about at one time. Usually it'll spark me to get going again.

You do provide interesting information on homeschooling, and I like your crafting posts. Life isn't just about theology and current events. True Lutheran blogging involves talking about your vocation.

Of course, do what is best for you and your family. But, I love visiting your blog!

Thank you so much, all of you.

Barb, I have nothing fresh to add, but I do understand how you're feeling about your blog. I almost deleted mine a couple of months ago because I couldn't figure out what it was. I still don't know, but I just keep writing. :)

Been in kind of a blogging funk lately myself. In my case, it means I need to re-prioritize, I think. I hope you get it figured out as it's not a good feeling. Personally, I find chocolate to be a temporary solution to problems like this ;)

PS Love your hubby's license plate. Now that's what I call love!
