2015

This may seem obvious, but I had a revelation over the Christmas break as to why so many of my plans for a new year seem to fall so flat, so quickly. That two weeks around Christmas and New Year's Day are ones in which not only does the Dancer not have school, but she also does not have dance, or other activities. I can stay home all day, if I wish, and I have plenty of time to accomplish things. Once we get back to regular life, I find myself not only with less time, but with less energy to do things when I am at home. I need to temper my expectations realistically.

On the other hand, getting the Dancer her driver's license sounds like a very good goal for 2015.

That break is such a blessing right after Christmas. I wish that most activities would take January off for classes, etc. The days are so short and the weather often makes driving treacherous. I hope the dance gets her license soon. I'm looking forward when Mads gets her license, so she can drive herself. If she managed to help with some of the running for the other kids it would be even better.

It would be nice to have Januaries off. The only problem is that dance teachers have to make a living, and pay the bills on their studio.

Unfortunately, the Dancer will have to go to driving school to get her license before age 18, and around here it will cost us about $300. We might be able to swing it easier now that she is the only kid at home though. I hope Mads will be a big help to you.
