Irish Experience
We needed to get out of the house today, so we went to the local, and annual, Irish Cultural Festival. Mr. Evil Genius bought all three of his girls some jewelry, I got to see some handsome Irish men ;), and we got to hear some Irish music and see some Irish dancing. The Scientist knew one of the Irish dancers from a sleepover party given by one of her good friends, also an Irish dancer. The two girls hung out for a while, in between performances by the girl's dance school. I bet none of you, even those who live in Ohio, have ever seen an Irish dance performed to "Hang On Sloopy." It electrified the crowd. O-H-I-O!

No, but believe it or not, that was the punchline of a joke I once knew. I can't remember how it goes now, but it involved veterinary dentists and balloon animals.
Glad you got to get out. Too hot and humid here to do much of anything right now.
oh we have a case of cabin fever here too. and it's COLD. i am coveting your heat.
mwah X
How did "Hang on Sloopy" get to be the official song of Ohio, anyway? Just curious...
Scottius, it was hot and humid here too. We just drank a lot while we walked around. No, it wasn't Guiness!
Kate, I bet you don't get below freezing very often down there in NZ, though.
Liz, I don't know. It seems the Ohio State band started playing it somehow and it just caught on. No accounting for taste, I guess. :)
I certainly don't oppose catchy songs... and if a state must have a song, let it be catchy!
